You’ll have to forgive us for tearing up even before watching the final trailer for Peter Jackson‘s Hobbittrilogy. It’s hard to believe that this second foray into Tolkien’s world is coming to an end and we’re finding ourselves at a bit of a loss when it comes to saying goodbye to these characters this time ’round.
From Martin Freeman‘s pitch-perfect journey as Bilbo Baggins to Richard Armitage‘s tortured performance as Thorin Oakenshield, the series and its stars have made us care for these characters more than we’d bargained for. But say farewell we must and, if this last preview is to be believed, the word epic won’t adequately describe the final ride we’re in for with The Battle of the Five Armies. Prepare for the defining moment of the Middle-earth legend, indeed.
Will we follow them all this one last time? You bet we will.
